    XCase Version 8.1 Has been Released


    Resolution is proud to announce the release of Xcase 8.1 .

    While the feedback we received for Version 8 was overwhelmingly positive, we, nonetheless, carefully heeded our users' suggestions to enhance it even further. More than ever, Xcase 8.1 offers exceptional stability and ease of use.

    As in the past, we will continue to offer technical support for Version 8.1 free of charge. However, we will discontinue doing so in the near future for versions prior to 8. If you upgrade now, you will not only enjoy all the outstanding benefits of Version 8.1, but you will also continue to receive free technical support.

    Aesthetics, Simplicity and Proficiency provided the guidelines of Xcase's new design.

    The New Databases fully supported:

    •  Microsoft SQL Server 2005 - including Schemas, Partitions, XML collections, XML Indexes, Index Included Columns, Description Extended Property, CLR Objects and much more.

    MySQL 5 - including Views, Stored Procedures, Functions and Triggers.

     

    The New Interface offers:

    •  Redesigned Workspace that provides a more aesthetic, state of the art working environment.

    •  Redesigned customizable and powerful XP style Toolbars.

    •  Improved Logic and Simplicity in the new Main Menu structure.

    •  A wealth of new functionalities that have been added to the Right-click Menus.

    •  Redesigned Browsers & Inspectors that allow much more convenient access to Data Dictionary Objects and their attributes.

    •  Redesigned Physical Data Browsers that use Multi-tabs to provide easy drill down access to all child records.

    •  Redesigned Dialog boxes that simplify the execution of complex tasks.

    •  Redesigned Xcase Help in Microsoft HTML Help format.

    New Features:

    •  New Multiple Selection of objects in the Sync and Merge dialog allows the convenient setting of an action for all the selected objects.

    •  New auto-complete feature from within the code editor allows selecting Data Dictionary Objects Names.

    •  New Align feature allows better organization and placement of objects in diagrams.

    •  New Dynamic Zoom tool allows easy and efficient setting of the zoom level.

    •  New Fit to Program Window allows efficient resizing of the Workspace.

    •  New Fit to Window allows efficient display of the whole Diagram or a selection in the Diagram Window.

    •  New Hand Tool allows moving the diagram more efficiently than scrollbars.

    •  New Hotkey feature allows executing common commands by pressing a single key.

    •  Jet Reverse and Forward Engineering is now executed from within Xcase.

    •  New Make Not-Null Bold feature allows emphasizing in the Display mandatory columns.

    •  It is now possible to set up ODBC connections from within Xcase.

    •  Redesigned Reports are now even more informative.

    •  New Enhanced control over Display settings and their defaults.
