Bloxx votado como finalista en los premios SC (inglés)

Bloxx, the Internet security company, has been voted by readers of SC magazine as a finalist in the European SC awards for ‘Best Web Filtering’

The annual awards aim to reward technical excellence and demonstrate the vital role IT security professionals play in shaping the industry. Readers were especially impressed by Bloxx’s advanced 8 layered filtering appliance, which incorporates the unique Advanced Page Scanning.

Developed entirely in house, Advanced Page Scanning enables Bloxx to identify and block inappropriate web sites, before anyone sees them. With tens of thousands of new (or re-named) sites added to the Internet every single week, keeping any list up to date is simply impossible; but with Advanced Page Scanning, Bloxx appliances scan each requested web site, scores it and then checks what the user is allowed to see (a bit like a film rating – U, 12, 15, etc) before the web site reaches the computer user. This unique feature puts Bloxx a step ahead of other filtering companies, many of whom can only block web sites they know are inappropriate – which means that the web sites they don’t know about (estimated to be in the billions) can still reach the screen of a user’s PC.

Eamonn Doyle, Managing Director of Bloxx, says ‘we are delighted that readers have voted Bloxx as a finalist in the SC Awards; that they recognise the effectiveness of Advanced Page Scanning and the benefits this has provided many organisations throughout Europe’.

Winners will be announced at the awards which take place on the 25th April 2006 at Grosvenor House, London.
