Norman saca la versión 5.8 de su Norman Virus Control (inglés)

As of 2005-01-17 NVC v5.8 will be available through Norman Internet Update. Restarting the computer will be necessary to complete the upgrade. Do not restart until the program instructs you to.

NVC v5.8 also has new naming conventions for the updates (zip files) that are downloaded by Internet Update.
    • New Internet Update functionality allows separate configuration for attended (user initiated) and unattended (scheduled) update mode.
In addition the new update dialogs also enable download of components seperatly, for example if you want to download signature and scanner engine updates, but don't want to download new versions of other components during regular updates.
    • New quarantine, including a new file format for quarantined files and more information columns in the user interface for Quarantine. Access from the Utilities module.
    • NVC v5.8 introduces a closer integration between Norman Program Manager (Zanda) and Internet Update (NIU). In addition, the tray icon is now a part of Norman Program Manager. It was formerly known by the process name Nymse
